The Downtown Development Authority (DDA) formed in November 2008 after downtown voters selected in favor of its creation. A DDA is a board of property owners, business owners and residents representing Downtown that can create and steer additional financial investment in Downtown Castle Rock. DDAs can finance many public improvements including streetscape projects, sidewalks, street lighting, street furniture, public parks and plazas.
The DMA was started in 2002 with only seven members. It has grown to 180 members with a vision of keeping downtown the heart of Castle Rock. Downtown Castle Rock is a great place to shop, dine and conduct business, as well as celebrate the history of the town and the spirit of the community. The DMA, with the support of the Town, the DDA and a group of valuable corporate sponsors, produce an annual Outdoor Events Series. This eight-event fun, family-friendly series is free to the public, and brings thousands of residents and visitors into downtown. For more information on the events or opportunities for involvement visit the events section.
