Castle Rock Bike & Ski is proud to be a part of Downtown Castle Rock for the past 20 years. They are located at 411 Fourth Street.
Castle Rock Bike & Ski is a locally owned-and-operated bicycle and snow sport shop located in historic Downtown Castle Rock. They were established in 2000. Castle Rock Bike & Ski is your one stop shop for everything from bikes, skis, snowboards, and snowshoes. The offer a variety of gear to buy as well as services for your equipment.
In other words, they sell fun! Their goal is to make sure your outdoor adventures are fun, safe and enjoyable every time from the moment you walk in their door until you get back home.

The Downtown Castle Rock Alliance had the opportunity to sit down with KC and Mark Neel, the owners of Castle Rock Bike & Ski. Here are some of the questions that we got to ask KC and Mark.
Why did you choose Downtown/what attracted you to owning a business in Castle Rock?
We were drawn to Castle Rock because we had family here. But the town also had – and still has – just about everything we wanted: a close-knit community, good people, beautiful landscape, plenty of open spaces and trails. We also knew we wanted to be in Downtown from the start.
Favorite thing about owning a small business?
Gosh, where to start? Owning your own business is not for the faint of heart but it is very fulfilling. I think being involved in the community is one of the most satisfying parts of owning our business. We also get to have a personal connection with our customers. We get to know them. They get to know us. We’re all connected. Small business owners also tend to stick together and look out for one another. We’re all in this together and that’s comforting in both troubled and calm waters.
Favorite place to visit in Downtown Castle Rock?
Castle Rock has so much to offer and Downtown is a treasure trove when it comes to work, play and recreation. The number of restaurants here means there is something for everyone: American, Italian, Chinese, Mexican. We have a plethora of bars and breweries to entertain us and give folks places to gather with friends and family. If you like coffee, downtown Castle Rock has several coffeehouses that cater to everyone from moms and kids to people working remotely to folks looking for a “Cheers”-like atmosphere where everyone knows your name. Festival Park is a world-class urban gathering space, and the Plum Creek Trail is a joy to traverse and explore. Downtown is home to attorneys, accountants, financial planners, banks, government, education, and corporations. We love being part of this eclectic and thriving district.
What’s something unique that people may not know about you or your business?
Mark is the head coach of the Castle Rock Crankers mountain bike club and high school racing team. He has been coaching high school and middle school kids on the joys and skills of mountain biking since the Colorado Youth Cycling League was formed in 2010.
What’s the easiest way customers can support your small business right now?
We are incredibly grateful for all the support we have received over the last two decades, and right now is no different. We very much appreciate everyone’s patience as we have worked through the demand for bike products and services. We are entering the winter season and offer sales, service and rentals of skis, snowboards and snowshoes. Season ski and board rentals are underway now but don’t wait long. Supplies are limited. If you are occasional skiers, riders or snowshoers, daily rentals are perfect for you. We make it easy and affordable.
Looking for some new gear this winter? It’s the perfect time to celebrate and prepare for your outdoor adventures. We have new skis, boards, boots, snowshoes as well as the accessories you’ll want to have a safe, enjoyable and fun experience outside. Even if you don’t ski or snowboard, you’ll want to take advantage of the awesome Colorado weather that encourages us to get outdoors. There is no such thing as bad weather. It all depends on the gear you wear. We have base layers for everyone in the family as well as socks, gloves, mittens and hats. Being outside ROCKS and Castle Rock has a lot offer when it comes to enjoying the outdoors!
