Mountain Man has been a vital part of Downtown Castle Rock for the last 25 years! The store is located at 404 Perry Street. Mountain Man has been doing a variety of new things to keep the safety and health of the Castle Rock Community their top priority during this time. In efforts to keep the community safe, they have begun to sell face masks. They offer a variety of masks including feminine and masculine designs as well as Castle Rock branded masks! These masks offer an excellent way to support the community, as well as stay safe.

The Downtown Castle Rock Alliance had the opportunity to sit down with Spencer and Brenda Young, the owners of Mountain Man. Below are a few of our favorite questions we got to discuss with them.
Tell us the story/background of your business. How did you end up running a business in your industry?
Mountain Man Nut & Fruit CO is a local Colorado company founded in 1977. We worked at a small Cellular company together in the early 90’s, Mountain Man used to come into our office with all the yummy treats. We used to go into the store here in Castle Rock and when it went up for sale we needed a change from our corporate jobs.
Why did you choose Downtown/what attracted you to owning a business in Castle Rock?
We love Castle Rock. I am a native and grew up in Sedalia. We love the small town. We also love how downtown has kept the feel of the old town!
Favorite place to visit in Downtown Castle Rock (other business, park, trail, etc)?
We love going to B&B for breakfast!
Favorite day of the year to own a small business?
Starlighting is hands down our favorite day of the year to own a small business!
What’s the easiest way customers can support your small business right now?
Our new hours are Monday thru Saturday from 10am to 3pm curbside pickup and in store shopping. From 3 to 6 pm we do deliveries. Call us before 3 and we will deliver same day free in Castle Rock. We have gift cards available, coming soon a full online store!
