RNK Running and Walking will be opening their doors for business in March 2021. RNK Running and Walking is located at 440 4th Street.

The Castle Rock Downtown Alliance had the opportunity to sit down with Jim Browning and Trent Briney, Owner and Co-Owner of RNK. Here are some of our favorite questions that we got to discuss with Jim and Trent.
Why did you choose Downtown/what attracted you to owning a business in Castle Rock?
We chose Downtown Castle Rock because of the great location, great energy in downtown and the growth in general. We are hoping to be a positive part of the community for years to come.
Favorite thing about owning a small business?
Our favorite is making a difference in a customer’s journey through life and running. Pain in your feet or pain while trying to be active and get around does not make life very smooth or enjoyable. If we can make it just a bit better using our products, experience, encouragement, and customer care we are filled with delight and satisfaction for what we do. It feels amazing to have positive experiences with people in our community.
Favorite day of the year to own a small business?
Today! No time like right now to make a difference and get after it! Small Business Weekend in November/December is always fun regarding the messaging of shop small and random customers choosing us that weekend just to support! Makes us feel grateful!
What’s something unique that people may not know about you or your business?
We are military owned by Jim and Stephanie Browning who both hold other full time jobs. Stephanie has worked in the medical field as a nurse for many years. Daily operations are run by Trent Briney, our co-owner who was an Olympic Alternate for the US Men’s marathon team for the 2004 Olympics after running a 2:12:34 and placing 4th in the US Olympic Trials for Marathon.
What’s the easiest way customers can support your small business right now?
Come check us out! We do running shoes, walking shoes, hiking options, stand at work all day options, sandals, massage tools, nutrition for working out, apparel for exercise and the outdoor lifestyle too. We offer free gait analysis by our professionally trained staff to assess your personal needs. If you can’t make it into the shop in person please check our website or call us and we can arrange something to fulfill your needs. Delivery or service outside of normal hours can be arranged.
If you hear people struggling with feet issues we are a great first step in getting them feeling better. Sometimes we come up with a solution and sometimes we are the person who encourages them to the next step of professionals who keep them moving like a Physical Therapist, Chiro, Massage, Foot Doctor or other footwear store.

We support any purchases at our shop by offering price matching and a customer oriented return policy so that not only can you have good service and good products but you can feel reassured that you are paying the fair price too!
We love our staff! They have great stories, and we would not be able to do this without Cecilia (our parker store manager), Jacqui (social media and more), Cordie (CR resident and our assistant store manager), Rachael, Brian, Amy, Andy, Sarah, Jennifer, Lindsey and all the employees who have helped us build since we started RNK Running and Walking in 2015.
