In honor of #CelebrateCastleRock month we will be featuring a new business EVERY Wednesday in the month of July! To kick off the celebration, we will be learning a little bit more about Mod Mountain Boutique!
Mod Mountain is a newer addition to Downtown Castle Rock. They are proud to have joined the community in September of 2019. The boutique is located at 215 Wilcox Street. Mod Mountain has a variety of women’s clothing, gift items and accessories that will help you make the most of any situation. Their goal is to have each customer love what they wear, give just the right gifts and get help to enhance and embrace their own natural beauty.
Mod Mountain is excited to be back open for in-person shopping. They are currently open Monday through Friday from 11:00AM-7:00PM, as well as Saturday from 10:00AM-6:00pm. You can also place your orders on modmoutnainbouique.com. They are currently offering free shipping for orders over $75!

The Downtown Castle Rock Alliance had the opportunity to sit down with Morgan Brubaker, one of the Owners of Mod Mountain Boutique. Below are a few of our favorite questions we got to discuss with Morgan.
Why did you choose Downtown/what attracted you to owning a business in Castle Rock?
We love the character and charm of being in a downtown area. We are extremely excited for the growth that is occurring in downtown and in Castle Rock in general. It is all very exciting!
Tell us the story/background of your business. How did you end up running a business in your industry?
Since high school, I have always wanted to own a women’s clothing boutique. Since then I received both my bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in apparel merchandising and have spent many years working in the industry. About two years before opening our storefront, my parents and I had started discussing owning a family business of some kind. In December 2018, we saw the Riverwalk buildings being constructed and I e-mailed my mom the link for the listing and just wrote “should we open a women’s clothing boutique?” I never thought she’d say yes, but here we are! She’s an accountant and I’m more of a creative, so we work well together!
Favorite place to visit in Downtown Castle Rock?
That is a tough question because there are so many things we love. We enjoy the events downtown, especially the Friday night concerts in Festival Park. We also frequent Lost Coffee, Union, Wild Blue Yonder, and of course other shops such as Amazing Lemons Boutique, The Barn, and The Emporium.
Favorite vacation spot?
We both really like going back to southern California where we can visit our family and buy new inventory for the store (especially in the winter so we can warm up!)
Favorite day of the year to own a small business?
I worked Christmas Eve on my own this first year and I personally really enjoyed helping all the men who were out doing their last-minute shopping pick out gifts.
What’s the easiest way customers can support your small business right now?
We have started some new avenues for shopping more conveniently from home, including free local delivery, curbside pickup, and live sales (Tuesdays at 6 p.m.) on Facebook and Instagram. We use these live sales to show items on a model, show the items styled with other pieces, and to allow our customers to ask us real time questions about the products. Otherwise, following us on social media and leaving comments or liking our posts helps a lot! Find us on social media – modmountainboutique on Facebook and Instagram! For those who are comfortable shopping in-store our hours are Monday – Friday 11 – 7 p.m. and Saturday 10 – 6 p.m. (Closed Sundays).
